Sunbus
Sunshine Coast Sunbus currently has one all-access bus in its fleet, with two more due early 2004 and further additions in late 2004.
No need to find a "bus stop" as with most conventional bus services. Sunbuses will pick you up anywhere on the designated route network as long as it is safe to do so.
Accessible bus route
The bus currently operates Monday to Thursday between Noosa and Caloundra, alternating between Routes 1, 1A and 12.
It is advisable to check the bus times when booking.
Route 1A
- Caloundra - Kawana - Maroochydore - Nambour Rail - Nambour Hospital & Return
- Monday and Wednesday
NOTE: The accessible bus operates on Route 1A all day, starting at 7:55 am from Caloundra and taking 4 hours to complete the round trip.
Route 1 and 12
- Maroochydore - Noosa heads - Nambour Hospital & Return
- Tuesday and Thursday
Connections through Noosa Heads are very limited, with only one practical forward morning journey and one afternoon return.
A route 1 service arrives Noosa Heads at 8:30 am connecting with the 8:45 am Route 12 to nambour. The bus leaves Nambour as a 12X service so goes via Nambour Hospital. The only return available departs Nambour Hospital at 3:00 pm arriving Noosa heads at 4:00 pm and connecting with the 4:40 pm south bound Route 1 service.
